Project Overview

The clinic was using a manual scheduling process that often resulted in double bookings, missed appointments, and frustrated patients. I was asked to create a role-based scheduling platform for doctors, admins, and patients.

My Role

I handled all aspects of development and system architecture, implementing real-time appointment handling and role-based access for a seamless user experience.

Stacks Used

  • React – built intuitive interfaces for each user type (doctor, patient, admin)
  • Node.js & Express – managed appointment APIs, time slots, and validation rules
  • JWT – used for secure authentication and user access control
  • Twilio – integrated SMS reminders and confirmation notifications for patients
  • MongoDB – stored appointment data and user records

Results Achieved

  • 45% drop in patient no-shows
  • Improved coordination between staff and reception
  • Over 70% reduction in scheduling conflicts
